The wave of controversy surrounding the whole Barry Bonds investigation seems to be put on hold while the baseball world marvels at exciting possibilities as well as who will be the next great player etched into the record books.
Despite the issues with steroids or allegations clouded over Bonds the most notable achievements such as the homerun record should be given proper recognition and honor. The problem still is will the record be tarnished if Bonds does indeed surpass Hank Aaron's mark. Of course he will breeze by Ruth, only needing a couple more homeruns to do so.
