Davidson's Curry busts out for 39 against Wofford

Davidson has a shining star which had heighten their success by leaps and bounds. They own a 21-4 record. That's garnered after dusting off the Wofford Terrriers yesterday in a 78-61 victory. Stephen Curry shot lights out for 39 points on 14-of-24 shooting from the field. He drilled 5 three-pointers. A big edge in comparison for the Wildcats were offensive rebounds. They snared 14 opposed to 4 by Wofford. This young, gutsy Davidson team is one of the best overlooked contenders in the southern conference and the nation.

No team will deny Davidson from making noise in the tournament come March Madness. They've got a good supporting cast which has okay depth off the bench. The true warrior and leader, Curry is keeping them on top while averaging 29.1 ppg. Their nifty win Thursday showed they can make easy work of less developed teams as guys step up like Andrew Lovesdale to contribute 10 points and 9 rebounds. Their focus now is keeping up the winnings ways and garnering a top seed for the tournament. Up next on their schedule is Furman, Citadel, and Butler. Stephen Curry will aim to improve on 38% shooting from beyond the arch and draw Davidson closer to fantastic regular season finish.

Stephen Curry is ridiculous, yes, but I could probably average 30+ ppg if I was taking that many shots. As you said, his supporting cast is really providing some good play recently. However, they play in a weak conference and lost recently to Charleston. Their 21-4 record is misleading as well, as they could have lost more than a few embarrassing games (how do you give up 95 to Chattanooga? They scored only 42 against Fairfield!!!) We'll see when tournament times comes around, but I don't see them hitting the sweet 16 to be honest.

We're looking for college sports bloggers at www.collegefanz.com, the largest online NCAA/NAIA site. I think your writing would do well there as we have a large national audience looking for some new blog entries.

Take a look around the site and let me know what you think at mgleeson@collegefanz.com. The site would benefit greatly from having your college stuff on board (I liked the Duke/UNC entry too- I just moved out of Raleigh actually).

I hope to hear from you soon.

I don't buy it either. I've seen him play, sports center is bound to get film of a couple of nice shots with hands in his face when he takes as many shots as he does. He'll get to the NBA and get shut down like an old pc.
